About

I am a 30-something non-believing participating Mormon. The intent of this blog is to record my thoughts on my thoughts, discoveries and interactions in my current state of disbelief.

I was born to believing LDS parents and was raised with an outside-the-Jello-belt perspective on Mormonism. My father was not a strict authoritarian when I was growing up, but was firm in his belief as a Mormon.

I served an LDS mission in South America and I am now married in the temple and have a great family with three wonderful, beautiful children. I have invested a majority of my life in the Mormon community, including more than ten years in my current ward/stake community.

I have recently had an awakening to the historical inaccuracies perpetuated by the official Church sources. I harbor no ill will toward the Church and don’t really have a desire to leave it, but I do want to change the culture so that it becomes more than what it is. I also want to promote honest discussion with issues that affect the future of the LDS Church.

I choose to remain anonymous so as to protect myself from the immediate repercussions that would happen if I opened the floodgates of my doubt to those in my family and the immediate LDS community.

Feel free to say hello in the comments here. Please, no hate mail. I harbor no ill will towards anyone.

Thanks,
white-shirted sepulchre

Love this post (I can relate to it. 30 something, lost faith in Church leadership, lifelong member, etc.). I guess its not surprising that there are a lot of us out there. Perhaps that is why the LDS Church is slowly being more open about its history. I still think they are far from frank about it, but I guess baby steps will have to do for now.
